One thing that pensioners aren’t renowned for these days is sitting
on heir backsides -
an opportunity to add to add to the store of knowledge
with which life has already endowed them .
So, when there’s a chance to pop out for the day to see something
different (often at a reduced entrance fee, and with a small subsidy
thrown in towards lunch) they welcome it with open arms.
Over the years the Club has arranged outings to a wide range of
interesting places -
The Palace of Westminster; The Guardian Newsroom;
Buckingham Palace; The Shard; The Shuttleworth Collection;
Wells & Young’s Brewery; White Water Rafting (yes!)
-
We also try to fit in a couple of “one day” rail trips during the year
(occasionally including a bit of steam) which have taken us very economically
to a variety of destinations around the country.
Because people travel from all over the area, you’ll usually have to
make your own way to the venue or the point of departure,
but everything else is arranged in advance.
You can pick up the details of outings from
the Diary Dates page, as they occur.
