So, while these events are usually advertised as “rambles”,

they involve walking with two purposes:
roughly following a route planned by the organiser

- and aiming to get to the pub by lunchtime!

Various people have a hand in the organisation, so throughout the year

you can expect to find a ramble somewhere in the Three Counties.

Stuart Bremner is the man who co-ordinates the dates however,

and he’s happy to hear from anyone who has a particular area they’d

like to visit, and even happier if you offer to organise a ramble yourself.

We try to fit a ramble into most months of the year, so why not

visit Diary Dates for details of the next event.

WALKS

AND RAMBLES

“What’s the difference?” you may ask.

Possibly something to do with the dictionary definition.

Walking usually means going from A to B;  rambling has connotations of “going

wherever one’s fancy leads”.

IN THE INTERESTS OF THOSE INVOLVED, YOU ARE REMINDED THAT

YOU ATTEND AT YOUR OWN RISK, AND THAT YOU SHOULD NOT ATTEMPT

A RAMBLE WITHOUT SUITABLE CLOTHING AND FOOTWEAR, OR IF YOUR PHYSICAL CONDITION IS INAPPROPRIATE.
