The Data Protection Act 2018 embodies the provisions of the
European General Data Protection Regulation (EU GDPR)
which applied in the UK from 25 May 2018 and, following Brexit,
are now incorporated in law as the UK GDPR.
The Act sets out the legal obligations on organisations
in relation to their processing of individuals’ personal information.
The Information Commissioner’s Office is the UK independent supervisory body
set up to uphold information rights, and provides a wealth of information at www.ico.org.uk.
In order to comply with the legislation, the Club is required to put policies
and processes in place to ensure that all data processing complies with
the principles of the Act. Details of these are available on request from honsec@bbldpc.org.uk.
An outline of how the Committee, on behalf of the Club, collects,
uses and stores your personal information, and the rights you have
in relation to its protection, is contained in our Data Privacy Notice,
which you can view or download from the link below.
If you have any questions about the Notice, would like to exercise
any of your rights, or are concerned about how the information is being processed,
please contact the Hon. Secretary by e-
