Armourers  Website

The Worshipful Company of Armourers & Brasiers is one of the 110 Livery Companies

in the City of London.  It has existed since 1322 when 26 helm-makers grouped together

to control standards in the craft of armour-making.  When effective musketry made armour redundant in the 1600's, its members turned to brass and copper work (hence ‘Brasiers’).

John Ambridge is organising the visit which will begin at 11.00, when we meet at

Bank Tube Station.  This large integrated interchange is served by the Central, Northern, and Waterloo & City lines, with nearby Monument Station connecting the Circle and District lines.

Please ensure that you leave Bank Station via Exit 1 for Princes Street.

We will assemble at the top of the stairs, and it is then a 7 minute walk to the Hall.

Coffee, tea and biscuits will be served on arrival, followed by a guided tour which lasts

about 90 minutes.  We will then enjoy a light lunch (sandwiches, crisps, fruit and soft drinks)

with an option to add a glass of wine.

To join this trip, please email John at john.ambridge@btinternet.com as soon as possible.

Then complete the booking form below and send it with your cheque to Penny Scott

at the address shown.  The deadline for booking is Tuesday 8 April,

and we need a minimum number of 15 Members to make the trip viable.

On the day John can be contacted on 07761 374 168.
